MAKE THOSE CURLS LAST

Happy Sunday beauties!

We all love throwing our hair into soft and bouncy curls to jazz up our summery look of the day. But let’s be real, the humidity gets the best of it, and by noon it looks deflated and kinky. I’ve done a bit of research over the last few days and put together a few tips and tricks to make those curls last, regardless of the weather.

skip conditioner

Our beloved moisture concealer can actually do more harm than good. Turns out it’s harder to curl slippery hair than it is condoner-less hair. So ladies, keep it out of the process.

mousse it up

You’ll want to add some texture to your damp hair in order for the curls to get some grip. Work a palm full of volumizing mousse starting from the roots down to your tips to put some hold in your hair. According to Merakilane the Moroccan Oil Volumizing Mousse works wonders.

curl properly

We all know that heat can do more damage to your hair than anything so this is where I suggest you select a worthwhile heat protectant and use it religiously when curling your hair. Investing in a good quality curling iron is key to long lasting curls. Part your hair and ensure that each part cools before moving on to avoid getting flattened by above layers. Lastly, don’t forget to turn up the heat accordingly (higher-thick hair, lower-thin hair).

I threw in one of my personal favourite curling tutorials just in case you guys wanted some reference!

hair spray

This is a given. Once you’ve curled to satisfaction, throw some extra hold with a good hair spray and you’ll be set for your next summer event (not to mention- hairspray is basically hair perfume so curly scented hair? Yes please!). Any hairspray of your favour will do.

Happy Curling lovelies!
