Happy Friday Lovers!
Cupid’s Day is just around the corner and obviously in celebration, our Modern Makeup media team met up during the week for another photoshoot to show you a couple of sweet and steamy looks for this upcoming weekend.
This blog post is going to consist of TWO of our favourite Valentines Day looks! Jen decided to step away from your stereotypical Valentine’s Day red lip look and instead embraced every shade of pink in her palette; transitioning from a soft day time look to a sultry smokey evening face.
Although red lips are very popular right now there are still tons of women out there who just don’t feel comfortable rockin’ a red lip. Wearing a red lip can also require a lot of maintenance and when you’re alone with your special someone this Valentine’s Day constantly re-applying your lip colour can be somewhat of an annoyance. Keep life simple and try pink instead!
We started off with our usual Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and Brightener, ELF HD Lifting Concealer to help hide my midterm eye bags. Then we sponged on Revlon’s Photoready Air Brush Effect Foundation in 005, and smeared on some MAC 24h Extend Eye Base Primer.
On the eyes Jen decided to put her new PATI DUBROFF Dream Pallette to use with Rose Quartz on the base, Dessert Rose on the crease, Lilac for the purple smokey look, and Smoke was used to diffuse the eyeliner and make it look softer.
To line the eyes she used Loreal Infallible’s 24h Lacquer Liner in the shade Dark Slate. And to fan out those lashes she used Rimmel’s Scandal Eyes Mascara.
For contour, MAC’s Bone Beige was used. In order to warm it up a bit Jen used some pink blush as well as some Make Up For Ever Face Luminizing Gel in the shade Uplift.
On the lips she used Marcelle’s Waterproof Lip Definition Pencil in the shade Barely Pink and topped it off with Clinique’s Long Last Gloss Wear in the shade Air Kiss.
Eyebrows were done up with STILA’s Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour in the shade Dark. Small short strokes give the brows a subtle and natural effect.
And there you have Look Number One!
Moving onto our second and more sultry look…
*We would just like to let you all know that absolutely nothing was altered or taken off my face throughout this transition except for the lip colour (only because I wanted to drink my tea in between shoots). The skin makeup and eye makeup was left as above and she simply applied new darker shades on the eyes to transition from the above sweet day look to the below sultry evening look.
She darkened the eyebrows a bit more with ELF’s Brow Kit in Dark. She did this because one the eyes were more dramatic the brows looked like they needed just a tiny bit more definition.
Jen applied a fresh layer of MAC’s Prolonger Lip Pencil in the shade in Anticipation all over my lips and smeared on some MAC Lip Glass in the shade Nymphette. This resulted in what we believe is a totally sexy Valentine’s Day lip that is ultra kissable!
She worked magic on the eyes with the PATTI DEBROFF Dream Palette with shades Timber, Ochre and the black shade titled Liquorice from PATTI DEBROFF’s Spotlight Palette was used to go all over the liner to soften and smudge it.
On the eyes used MAC Gel Liner in Black track and put that all over eyelid and smudged it and also used it in the inner waterlines, both upper and lower. That little pop of shimmer that you see when the eye is closed, right above the pupil is MAC “Cinderella Mineralize” eyeshadow… and it is to die for!
Aprés ça, Jen threw on some Ardell lashes in 403, added some more blush et voila!!
Look Number Two
