COVID-19 Safety Policies & Procedures

COVID-19 Safety Policy Update:

At Modern Makeup, both our client and our team member’s health and safety are our top priorities.

We have implemented the following safety policies and procedures in accordance with advice from Health Canada.

The following steps are necessary 100% of the time, regardless of whether or not you are showing symptoms of being sick.

MASKS:

  • The client will be required to wear a mask for the majority of the makeup service.

  • Refusal to wear a mask in the room with your artist will result in refusal of service.

  • You will be required to wear a mask and remove it only when instructed.

  • Because wearing a mask is mandatory, we recommend showing your artists photos of your face or having a virtual consult arranged prior. This will allow your artist to see what you look like before they have you take off your mask for the first time.

  • The client must wear a mask when entering the room with the artist.

HAND WASHING:

  • A sink for handwashing must be available in the building.

  • Your artist will wash their hands before and after your appointment.

  • Hand sanitizer will also be used in addition to washing.

  • Clients will be asked to wash and/or sanitize their hands before being seated.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE):

  • Your makeup artist will be wearing all necessary PPE equipment.

  • Clean PPE will be worn for every client and hands will be washed and sanitized.

  • All PPE will be disposable of and face shields sanitized or changed between every client.

ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS:

  • Your temperature will be taken prior to starting your makeup service.

  • Additional cleaning time is required after each person as the entire area will be sanitized.

  • A health screening questionnaire and signed acknowledgement will be required before the service begins.

  • A health screening call 24-48 hours before your scheduled start time.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The client must be responsible for maintaining a safe environment and must follow all government-mandated rules in relation to gathering sizes. Your artist has the right to refuse unsafe work or situations.

  • The name and contact information of everyone in the building at the time of service must be recorded in the event contact tracing is required.

  • Please abstain from any unnecessary contact. Please do not attempt to greet your artist with a handshake at this time.

  • Avoid touching your face. You will be asked to sanitize if you accidentally touch your face.

  • We encourage the client to allow “at-risk” persons to go first, for example, anyone over  65, who has diabetes, or who has any known lung or immunity issues.

  • Be honest! If you do not feel well or show any symptoms you need to cancel!

Please do your part and be honest about your health!

Our team travels all across the province and has contact with a lot of people when busy.

We have families too! Help us keep them safe and STAY HOME if you feel any symptoms!

Modern Makeup will follow all government orders and guidelines in accordance with public health and safety recommendations.

We will adhere to the highest standard policies at all times to ensure best practices for the health and safety of our team members and clients.

Thank you for doing your part to help us keep everyone safe!
